Abstract
En este trabajo se realiza una pequeña comparación entre Chile y el alto porcentaje que tiene América Latina en términos de representación política de las mujeres en las Cámaras. Después de indicar algunas razones del bajo nivel de representación política de las mujeres en los cargos legislativos en Chile -las cuales pueden ser económicas, culturales e institucionales- se trata de poner más énfasis al asunto de ley de cuotas que parece ser una solución para superar las razones institucionales del bajo nivel de representación política femenina.
