Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como propósito fundamental examinar las permanencias, cambios y transformaciones del populismo en México: para ello examina críticamente las diversas propuestas teóricas que se han discutido acerca de dicha categoría, proponiendo la predominancia de una mirada que ha exagerado los populismos en América Latina. Posteriormente a partir de las contribuciones de Almond y Powell, presenta un balance histórico y político de los populismos mexicanos a partir de la dicotomía predemocrático/posdemocrático. Colocando como ejemplo las acciones políticas generadas bajo las fi guras de Vicente Fox y Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
