Abstract
In recent decades there has been a growing concern for the environment and the care of ecosystems. In this context, the case of the Brazilian Amazon has gained special relevance given its exuberant and imposing biological diversity, so that an increase in concern can be observed regarding the promotion of extractive practices in this region. This article explores the rhetoric of the Brazilian president Jair Messias Bolsonaro, through his speeches given on the exploitation of Amazonian territory in the dimensions of sovereignty, relationship with indigenous communities and extractivism, revealing a variation in his initial extractivist discourse aimed at exploitation. of the Amazon, made a discourse of sustainable development that advocates compliance with the agreements made on environmental matters
