Lost (but Sheltered) in His Labyrinth: The Presidential Leadership of Sebastián Piñera (2018–2022)

Abstract
The objective of this work is to describe the presidential leadership (PL) exercised by Sebastián Piñera during his 2018-2022 presidential period. The specific objectives are: to describe the economic context in which the PL operates, to analyze the behavior of the political and social actors that interact with the President, to determine the resulting political-institutional position (PIP). The evidence indicates that President Piñera squandered his power resources, due to bad decisions made in the exercise of his PL, an issue that placed him in a situation of political weakness, but he was able to avoid a scenario of presidential instability and complete his second term thanks to the signs of institutionalization of the Chilean political regime.
